Phytochemical adjuvants for cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer
Cisplatin resistance is a property of particular cell states inside a tumour, not of the tumour as a whole, so the work starts at single-cell resolution. Resistance-associated targets recovered from scRNA-seq anchor a network pharmacology screen of Withania somnifera phytochemicals, narrowed by docking and structural dynamics into compound–target hypotheses to be tested.

Antimicrobial resistance surveillance in Bangladesh
Resistance is measured here on two fronts at once: what the isolates carry, and what the people prescribing and taking antibiotics know. Laboratory surveys of resistance genes in clinical pathogens run alongside cross-sectional studies of pharmacists, parents and students, so a resistance pattern can be read against the behaviour producing it.

Dengue epidemiology and control in Bangladesh
Dengue in Bangladesh is now an annual event rather than an outbreak, and the project treats it that way. Clinical and haematological profiling of hospitalised patients sits beside community-level work on prevention behaviour and a synthesis of national trends since 2000, to say where control effort actually changes the curve.

Pan-cancer biomarker discovery from public omics
A running programme that mines consortium data — TCGA, GEO, ICGC — for genes whose expression, methylation and immune context separate tumour from normal and predict outcome. Each cycle takes one gene or family across all available tumour cohorts, then follows the survivors into prognostic and immunological validation.

Cross-study RNA-seq meta-analysis of stress response
Single RNA-seq studies are underpowered for anything conserved. This project re-processes public datasets through one uniform pipeline so expression can be compared across studies, and applies it to stress response in rainbow trout — a test of whether a conserved signature survives batch, lab and design differences.

Thalassemia burden, quality of life and prevention
Bangladesh carries one of the heavier thalassemia burdens in the region with no compulsory screening in place. The project quantifies what the disease costs patients through validated quality-of-life instruments, measures what the population knows about carrier status, and argues the prevention case from that evidence.
