We turn data into solutions.

CHIRAL Bangladesh is a multidisciplinary research centre working across computational biology, artificial intelligence, public health informatics and geospatial epidemiology — and training undergraduate researchers to do that work themselves, from first hypothesis to peer review.

The five disciplines that meet at CHIRAL Bangladesh Five overlapping circles labelled bioinformatics, AI, spatial, public health, and computational biology. All five intersect at a central region marked CHIRAL, showing that the centre's research sits where the disciplines meet. Hovering a circle highlights that discipline's area. Four groups, one axis of scale

Our groups are not separate departments. They are four positions on a single continuum — the same disease read as a molecule, as a patient record, as a prediction, and as a place.

Molecular Molecules & genomes
Individual Patients & records
Predictive Models & diagnostics
Population Districts & climate

Computational Biology

Multi-omics integration, bulk and single-cell RNA-seq, and structural modelling to locate the mechanisms and biomarkers behind complex disease.

Group →

Public Health & Informatics

Survey analytics, clinical registries and digital health evaluation, quantifying disease burden and health inequity across Bangladesh and South Asia.

Group →

Bio-AI

Risk prediction, medical image analysis and interpretable machine learning built for clinical settings where transparency matters as much as accuracy.

Group →

Geospatial Health

Disease mapping, satellite earth observation and accessibility modelling, linking climate and environment to where illness actually falls.

How we work

A research centre that is also a school

CHIRAL is volunteer-run and charges nothing. What we offer instead is supervision, method, and the expectation that a first-year student can produce work that survives peer review.

Students lead

Undergraduates take first authorship and run their own analyses under one-to-one supervision.

No fees, no stipends

Entirely voluntary in both directions. We measure ourselves in publications and careers, not revenue.

Disciplines mix

Computer scientists, molecular biologists, clinicians, statisticians and geographers on the same projects.

Open by default

Pipelines, teaching material and code are published openly so the capacity stays in the region.
