Junior researcher intake is open

Applications are open to university students in their first three years who want to work on bioinformatics, machine learning or public health data science.

We are accepting applications for the junior researcher track from university students in their first, second and third years.

The track is aimed at students who want to do research rather than read about it. Accepted applicants join one of our four groups, work under one-to-one supervision on an active project, and are expected to carry that project through to a manuscript. There is no fee, and there is no stipend.

No prior programming experience is required. Foundational training in Linux, R and Python is provided through the centre’s training programmes. What we do ask for is consistency — the projects run over months, not weeks.

Students from life sciences, computer science, medicine, public health, pharmacy, statistics, geography and environmental science are all a fit.
